In the new leak the two models have been named Galaxy X1 and Galaxy X1 Plus respectively. The cocnept models have been numbered SM X9000 and SM X 9050. As per Weibo, both the smartphones will run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow but another reports suggest that the Galaxy X1 smartphone might run android 6.0.1 whereas Galaxy X1 Plus might come out with Android Nougat out of the box.

Samsung made a smart step ahead in November by gaining the flexibile display patent in the U.S. patent and trade mark office. The company has also applied to register a patent for foldable smartphone with a hinge in the center.

It is also said that the new age smartphone from Samsung would not sport a 16:9 aspect ratio. Allegedly the bendable section of the phone will enable the smartphone to function like a flip phone too. Samsung is working on two prototypes, one foldable smartphone with flat display and the other with flexible OLED screen.

Not only foldable smartphones will change the way we use smartphones, it will also change the way we utilize technology. Imagine not having to use a computer/ laptop while you can have a foldable screen in your pocket to do your daily computing task! But we might have to wait for another 20 years to witness how this innovation develops into a viable affordable option.
