Reliance launches Jio services with free voice calls, 4G data plans starting as low as Rs. 19 from Sep 5 till Dec 31

Mukesh Ambani, Chairman and Managing Director of the Reliance Industries has launched Reliance Jio services at the company’s AGM which will be valid from September 5 till Dec 31 this year. Mukesh Ambani said, “Jio will put an end to voice call charges in India. No Jio customer will ever have to pay for voice calls again,”. The effective rate for data is 5p/ MB, or Rs 50/ GB as compared to effective rate of about Rs. 250/ GB being provided by other operators.

Jio’s 4G network is spread over 18,000 cities and towns, and covers 2 lakh villages. Till March 2017, it plans to reach out to 90% of India’s population. Mukesh Ambani also talked about the company’s plans to partner with all segments of enterprises and introduce competitive and unique customized solutions.

Special Offers under Reliance Jio

  • Free unlimited local and STD voice calls to any network and also includes free roaming across India. So, the users will just have to pay for the data.
  • The Reliance Jio plans start from Rs 19 for the occasional data user with a validity of 1 day and Rs. 149 plan for the light data user with one month validity.
  • There is also a monthly plan of Rs. 4,999 for the heaviest data users. Along with this unlimited 4G data would be offered at night and free data usage by connecting to JioNet WiFi Hotspots.
  • Jio plans to deploy nearly 1 million Wi-Fi hotspots across India by next year. JioFi hotspots would be available for Rs. 1999.
  • No Blackout Days and Bills will be transparent
  • Jio-Apps bouquet worth Rs. 15,000 free for all active Jio users till 31st December 2017.
  • Students Discount Offer which gives students 25% more data on Jio’s main tariffs.

The scheme will begin from Mumbai and Delhi and gradually expand to top 8 cities of India as per the demand.

Jio sign-up will be easy and digital that involves an Aadhaar based eKYC process. In the coming 4 to 6 weeks it will expand to all stores in the country. So, the interested users will just need to carry an Aadhaar card to a nearby Jio store and they will get a working connection within next 15 minutes.
