Microsoft Band Officially Announced for $249.99

Microsoft has released its next gen fitness tracker by the name of 'Microsoft Band’. It has been priced at $249.99 and its pre-order has started today. From October 30 Company will start its shipping in different areas. In comparison to original band this is quite sleek and has a curved display and supports 11 advanced sensors i.e. Optical heart rate sensor, 3-axis accelerometer/gyro, Gyrometer, GPS, Ambient light sensor, Skin temperature sensor, UV sensor, Capacitive sensor and Galvanic skin sensor… It is prepared with TPSiV i.e. Thermal Plastic Elastomer Silicone Vulcanate.

Talking about its specifications, this sleek curved band comes with touch-sensitive AMOLED display which has ‘Corning Gorilla Glass 3’ protection which protects the screen from fingerprints and scratches. It is 32mm in length and 12.8mm in thickness. It helps you to reach your health and fitness goals by tracking your exercise, calories burn, heart rate and sleep quality. Along with this, you can also check your texts, mails and calendar alerts on your wrist. Its advanced sensors are able to track data specific to biking, running and golfing.

This new device from Microsoft comes loaded with Cortana integration. In case of Windows Phone 8.1 or later, you can ask Cortana to dictate or type responses win your own voice. It comes equipped with a barometer that helps to estimate elevation changes in real-time and tools for measuring a ‘VO2 max’ reading. Through Microsoft Health and Microsoft Band the users can share their activity data with their favourite fitness applications. The company has collaborated with partners like Twitter, RunKeeper, Subway, MyFitnessPal, Facebook, Lose it, Uber and Starbucks.

The Microsoft Band is fueled by a Li -Polymer battery with 48 hours backup and takes less than 1.5 hours to get charged with custom charge cable. It supports varied number of devices like iPhone: 4S, 5, 5C, 5S, 6, 6 Plus and iOS 8.1.2. Its operating temperature ranges from 10°C to 40°C (14°F to 104°F) whereas maximum operating altitude is 300m to +4877m.
