Meet CBR250RR – Honda’s Answer to Ninja 300 & Yamaha R3

When it comes to competition, the Japanese automobile experts are one above the other on the performance charts. Kawasaki Ninja 300 was a clear winner till the arrival of Yamaha R3 and after the event, both are the most complicated rivals of all time in the lightweight sport segment. Honda stayed away from the fight as its single cylinder units were from a different class but is expected to enter through a much powerful and classy CBR250RR.

The race oriented motorcycle is expected to come with a 249 cc engine, 2 or 4 cylinder engine producing a north of 36 BHP and 25 NM of torque. The gearbox would be a 6-speed and its redline would go until 20,000 rpm. The engine would be liquid cooled as well as fuel injected.

The front end of the bike would be quiet sharp and its twin headlight design looks perfect to its performance. The bike gets single disc brakes for each wheel and if launched in India, its expected price would be around INR 3,50,000 (ex-showroom). If Honda follows the 4-cylinder pattern of RR series, the bike would be the most impressive unit from Honda motorcycles. It would be launched/unveiled at the 2015 Tokyo motor show this year.
