BMW G310R, manufactured by TVS and engineered by BMW Motorrad India will be seen on roads this October in the range of 3 lakh INR. It has been once again spied on Bengaluru-Chennai highway with michelin tyres. The bike has a single cylinder liquid cooled 313 cc engine mated to a six-speed gearbox which can develop a power of 34 hp at 9,500 rpm and a torque of 28 Nm at 7,500 rpm.
The bike weighs 158.5 kgs and has a power to weight ratio of 212.7 hp/tonne much lesser than KTM Duke 390 which has a ratio of 262 PS/ tonne. With a fuel tank capacity of 11 litres, the bike would offer a mileage of around 36 kmpl. The bike has been found to have upside down forks in the front, disc brakes with dual channel ABS, mono shock rear suspension etc. The bike has a short wheelbase which provides easy manoeuvrability.
Moreover, the amazing fact is that BMW G310R will hit first the Indian market before it is launched in the global market. Under the JV, BMW and TVS alliance, a series of new motorcycles under the 500 cc segment are expected to be launched in India.
