Benelli TNT 135 Launch Cancelled Might Launch Leoncino Scrambler in 2017 Instead

The Benelli TNT 135 had already created a lot of buzz when it was first unveiled at Delhi Auto Expo 2016. And also later the news came that it’s launch was pushed to later part of 2017. But Shirish Kulkarni, Chairman of CSK Motorcycles expressed their concern that the premium bike was compared to Honda Navi and could not be launched at the price they wanted. He commented “We did market research and a lot of people loved the product, especially the North Eastern market. The consumers found the engine capacity, the cycle parts and the overall design quite appealing. But when it comes to the price point, the product isn’t there yet. People started comparing it with the Honda Navi and it is not possible to launch this product at that price. Even if the TNT 135 is made in India, it is very difficult to price it aggressively.”

But the company also hinted that they might launch the Leoncino Scrambler in the country in a festive season. The Scrambler is powered by a 499 cc twin cylinder engine which generates a maximum power of 13 hp @ 9000 rpm and generates a maximum torque of 10.8 Nm @ 7000 rpm. The Scrambler also gets an ABS with street bike tyres. it also gets LED DRLs, LED blinkers and LED tail lamps.
