The 23-year-old female wrestler, Sakshi Malik, has made India proud by grabbing the first ever medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics. She has bagged the medal by competing in the 58 kg freestyle and has also become the first Indian woman to win a medal in wrestling at the Olympics.
Proud of the achievement of the Rohtak girl, Mr Anand Mahindra, head of Mahindra would be gifting a brand new customized Mahindra Thar SUV to her, as announed by him on Twitter. The features on the new Mahindra Thar include beefier bumpers, flared wheel arches, reprofiled grille and bonnet, new foot boards on the sides, tweaked side sheet metal design, and a redesigned exhaust pipe. A new design for alloy wheel design (accessory) and hubcaps is also expected in the new variant.
Along with exterior changes, there are changes on the interior side also which includes a new and modern dashboard design with dual-tone color theme, new triple pod instrument console and silver accented steering wheel borrowed from Bolero. The upright centre console has got ‘Thar’ branding along with silver AC vents. The new variant also comes with all new cup holders, gear lever, and AC controls. Mahindra Thar gets its power from the 2.5-litre DI diesel engine which can churn 63 bhp and 195 Nm of torque or Scorpio-derived 2.5-litre CRDe diesel engine which can churn 105 bhp and 247 Nm of torque.
