The time when Brough Superior started counting as a myth of motorcycling world, it’s Barn find 1938 specimen set the pulse running out of every automobile collector of the world. Unveiled for the first time in 50 years, it was auctioned at the Bonhams sale of important collectors for a record breaking price of $481,520 (INR 3.2 crore) for a British made motorcycle.
The bike features an engine and gearbox from an Austin 7 car with a total of 4-cylinders. Most of the bikes were made single cylinder at that time and Brough Superior 750 was counted as one of the most advanced machines of that time.
The overall auction sold 230 bikes out of which the Brough Superior along with 7 other found from the same Barn were sold for a total of $1.1 million (INR 7.3 crore).
