Latest report from Financial Express, the Maruti Ignis will make it to showrooms during this Diwali season. However, this report is contrary to other reports that state about Maruti's delay in launch because they wanted to decrease the backlog of orders for the Maruti Baleno and Vitara Brezza.
The India-spec Maruti Ignis was unveiled at the Auto Expo 2016 and will come equipped with a chrome-accentuated grille and roof rails. The dimensions of the vehicle are : 3,700 mm in length, 1,660 mm in width, 1,595 mm in height. The vehicle has a wheelbase of 2,435 mm long wheelbase and offers a ground clearance of 180 mm.
It will be powered by a 1.2-liter K12B engine with VVT and 1.3-liter DDiS engine designed with Suzuki’s SHVS mild hybrid tech. A 5-speed manual will be standard in both models. An (AGS) AMT gearbox could be launched exclusively for the petrol variant.
The Ignis features a distinct design on the inside with a utilitarian floating dual tone dashboard that is equipped with a freestanding SmartPlay display. Ignis will also come with unique HVAC controls and a new design for the steering wheel.
