Microsoft has announced a new smartphone, 'Microsoft Lumia 550' in its most popular Lumia series today. It will go on sale in European market first at $139 (approx. INR 9000). There are two versions on offer in Lumia 550 - Single SIM and Dual SIM. Both the versions have 4G LTE support.
Feature wise, it comes with 4.7-inch HD display at front that offers 1280x720 pixels resolution. At the heart, it packs a 1.1GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 processor and 1GB RAM. It runs on Windows 10 operating system. The dimensions of the phone include 136.1 x 67.8 x 9.9mm and it weighs at 141.9 grams. On the camera front, it has an auto-focus 5MP rear with LED flash and 2MP front-facing camera.
Both the cameras are capable of capturing videos of 720p (rear) and 480p (front). For the storage purpose, it supports 8GB internal memory and an expandable memory of 200GB via microSD card. In the terms of connectivity, it offers Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS/AGPS, Bluetooth 4.1 LE and 3G network support. For the backup, it relies on 2100mAh removable battery.
The Microsoft Lumia 550 and Dual SIM version has two color options on offer including White and Black. The company hasn't revealed the price of Dual SIM version and exact availability date yet. But they have confirmed that it will reach the market shelves by December in selected European market.
