Kawasaki recently launched the 2017 Versys 650 in India. It was priced at INR 6.60 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The changes to the motorcycle include a BS4 compliant engine, gear shift indicator in the instrument console and Green/Black shade with Versys decals on the fuel tank. The alloy wheels are also pinstriped on the 2017 Versys.
The motorcycle uses the same 649cc engine producing 68.1 BHP at 8500 rpm and 64 Nm at 7000 rpm. It comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox and claims a bigger 21 liter fuel tank. The bike weighs 216 kg and claims a seat height of 840 mm. It is the best product if one considers adventure touring motorcycle at a strict budget.
Kawasaki India is ready a new strategy for its sales and service network as they just have 12 dealerships left across the country. They will soon expand the network of dealerships while many products will be discontinued before April 1, 2017. The complete list of available bikes would be live on the first day of next month.
